Gold-plated pieces feature a thin layer of real gold over a base metal (often brass). This gives a beautiful golden glow at an accessible price point. The plating is applied through electroplating, creating a delicate surface finish that can naturally fade over time — especially with exposure to water, sweat, or lotions.

2. Gold-Filled Jewelry
The everyday favorite — durable, radiant, and crafted to last through life’s daily rhythms.
Gold-filled jewelry has a much thicker layer of solid gold mechanically bonded to a core metal (usually jeweler’s brass). Unlike plating, this process permanently fuses the gold to its base, making it 5–10 times thicker than standard gold-plated finishes. That means it won’t easily chip, peel, or wear away with proper care.
Gold-filled is loved by those who want the look, feel, and longevity of real gold — without the higher cost of solid gold.
